QUANT

The first official feature documentary celebrating the incredible life-story of fashion icon, style guru and one of the most influential designers of the 20th Century, Dame Mary Quant.

QUANT is directed by Sadie Frost (Producer of Set The Thames on Fire, Sky Captain & The World Of Tomorrow and acting credits including Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Love, Honour & Obey) in her directorial debut. The film is creative produced by Ben Charles Edwards (Set The Thames on Fire, Father of Flies) and Kirsty Bell of Goldfinch Entertainment.

One of Britain’s most renowned cultural figures, Quant was at the vanguard of the stylistic revolution of the 60s and 70s, leading the charge away from convention and conservatism through the championing of ground-breaking designs including the miniskirt and hot pants, plus an ingeniously creative partnership with hair stylist, Vidal Sassoon.

Quant’s mould-breaking designs and irreverent style were widely credited as being critical to the development of the ‘swinging sixties’.

QUANT tells the full story of this design and retail pioneer, from her first store on the legendary King’s Road in London, where the days’ sales paid for cloth that could be made up overnight into new stock for the following day, through to the development of a global empire incorporating fashion, homeware and cosmetics.

Using original interviews with Quant’s contemporaries (Kate Moss, Vivienne Westwood, Edward Enninful), Quant family and modern day fashion and style leaders, plus dramatized scenes enacting some of Quant’s most famous statements, and archive footage, QUANT features striking creativity within its storytelling and imagery.

The film is helmed by Goldfinch Entertainment (Ronnies, Bombay Rose). With Cinematographer John Bretherton and Production Designer Trinity Tristan (Set The Thames On Fire, Father of Flies). Phil McKenzie and Spencer Pollard Executive Producing.

The documentary leads on from the V&A exhibition on Mary Quant. Which by the time it closed in Feb 2020 had almost 500,000 visitors. More than any other exhibition within that section of the museum.

HE IS KING [WORLD PREMIERE]

HE IS KING is a powerful, GenAI short film by visionary filmmaker Dustin Hollywood that reimagines Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech. Through intimate storytelling and innovative technology, the film explores King’s preparation, his quiet moments of reflection, and the profound impact of his words on a nation in transformation. Blending history with modern AI innovation, HE IS KING honors the legacy of MLK as a human being, not just a monument, reminding us that the dream lives on through new voices and technology, reaching future generations.

The entire film is generated using AI except for the music. Some of the SFX are generated in ElevenLabs with the voices as well, a custom voice mashup was used to mimic a voice like a southern pastor and then degraded to give the vintage sound in Adobe. I used Google VEO 2 and Runway Gen4 for all of the shots in the film using Text-to-image and Image-to-video as well as Text-to-video. All consistency was developed into my custom prompting and then structured to fit together in sequence for the pattern consistency of style and characters to match. All VFX was also generated in Runway Gen3 such as the film emulsion and burnout and overlaid in editing to create vintage content more aligned with realistic textures and motion.
