THE DUST THAT SETTLES
SHORT FILM BLOCK 1
SYNOPSIS
In the summer of 2022- maybe July? I can’t remember- Some friends and I took a little trip to one of my favorite locations out in the middle of nowhere. It was hot- so hot that it was almost unbearable to work. But as hot as I thought it was, it wasn’t nearly as bad as fellow (incredible) artist Gregory Pierce had it. The suit he’s wearing is an authentic NASA fuel handler’s suit from the late 60s. The suit is basically comprised of thick rubber, and at the end of our shoot he took the astronaut suit off and was able to ring out the clothes he was wearing underneath it, followed by a steady stream of sweat that seemed never ending. This piece is voiced by the incredible Karrie Ross. I knew she would be perfect for this and she wrote/spoke the most incredible piece. I immediately used what she first sent me- I loved it so much there was no need to send anything else.I worked with artists that I met through web 3 on this piece, with the web 3 audience in mind. The space has given me a reason to film short pieces like this.
FILMMAKER Q&A follows screening.
