Madeline Marlowe, a queer filmmaker and performance artist creates art that subverts expectations using post-patriarchal narrative subtext while mixing genres. When studying in San Francisco, working within The Bay’s rich subcultures with non-conformist filmmakers is what truly shaped her voice.

Madeline’s noteworthy coming-of-age film, PINKBOY, follows Hawke, a gender non-conforming eleven-year-old evolving beyond intolerable family complexities thanks to a fabled vintage toy store, inspired and produced by her life partner, Rubie.

She’s deeply committed to the Film3 movement, a fierce supporter of The Squad, contributes writing to The Coders Room and is a genesis member of web3’s Never Alone community film team.

Drawing from her life as a sex worker witnessing raw vulnerabilities of the human condition, her latest project follows three generations of sex workers. RESTRICTED is a hybrid non-fiction, narrative-documentary fusing her spine-tingling interview style, magical realism and AI filmmaking, inviting the audience to feel what it’s like to trade sex advocating for complete liberation.
